Here comes the summer

Not too long now till we're back again for some summer fun in the Chamonix Valley. Hopefully the sun is going to shine a little bit more than it has been of late and we'll be out taking in the fresh mountain and exploring the tracks, on foot and on bike, around Argentiere.

One of our favourites is the path which runs through the woods behind the apartment and eventually leads all the way down to Chamonix. There's a couple of variations, with much of the route forming part of the Petit Balcon. And being gently downhill, and about 5 miles or so to the town, its an ideal length for energetic 3 and 5 year olds. Particularly if you tell them that there's an ice cream in town and a train ride back again!

But there's plenty more to go at as well. The obligatory train ride to Montenvers is on the cards again, as is the Mont Blanc tramway. We might even find time to head down to the lake in Annecy, or the water park by Lake Geneva. And I'll be through the Stumpjumper in the van to make sure that there's time for a few training runs up to the Col de Balme, in anticipation of the Tour du Mont Blanc in September. Can't wait!
